The New NWZ-B100 Series Sony Walkman


Not as high profile as the NWZ-A810 and NWZ-S610 series walkmans; Sony today also released the NWZ-B100 series. The NWZ-B100 series are small USB direct connect players, with a three-line color LCD display and an FM tuner (with built in recording capability). Estimated battery life is around 12 hours.

The players support drag and drop transfer of non-DRM files and most subscription services.

The NWZ-B100 series of Walkman music players come in two different capacities and colors:

The NWZ-B103F player has a total capacity of 1GB, comes in black, and costs about $60.
The NWZ-B105F player has a total capacity of 2GB, comes in black and white, and costs about $80.

Nikon's WiFi Ready Coolpix S51c Camera

Today it’s Nikon who are announcing some new digital cameras. One of them is the Coolpix S51c that is Wi-Fi ready to allow you to send your cherished pictures via email.

As well as this Wi-Fi feature the Coolpix S51c comes packed with an 8.1 megapixel resolution, 3x Zoom, 3.0-inch LCD, Optical Vibration Reduction (VR), image stabilization system and ISO up to 1600.

With support for Nikons new Picturetown (Nikon’s new photo sharing and storage service) users can email pictures directly to friends and family, publish pictures to the photo community sharing website Flickr, and link their photos to blogs and social networking sites

The Coolpix S51c is also equipped to use Pictmotion, which allows users to select up to 200 images along with music that’s pre-loaded, or from the user’s library. The music and photos are then automatically compiled in-camera to produce audiovisual shows in VGA quality for a truly personalized photo-sharing experience.

The New NWZ-A810 and NWZ-S610 Walkman's From Sony

Sony has just released their all new Walkman music players. The NWZ-A810 series and NWZ-S610 series play audio and video. For the first time these players will be supplied with ‘Sonic Stage’ and will instead use Microsoft Windows Media Player 11; which should make music management a much better experience on these players.

The NWZ-A810 gets a 2-inch QVGA (320 by 240 pixels) LCD screen and the NWZ-S610 a 1.8-inch QVGA (320 by 240 pixels) LCD screen. Both players will come in either 2GB, 4Gb or 8GB of memory, with an estimated battery life of 33 hours for music.

The players support security-enhanced Windows Media Audio (WMA), as well as non-secure AAC and MP3 music formats, plus JPEG files for photos, in addition to the AVC (H.264/AVC) Baseline Profile and MPEG-4 video codecs and are PlaysForSure certified.

Prices for the NWZ-A810 series:

The NWZ-A815 player has a total capacity of 2GB; comes in white, pink, black, blue and silver; and will cost about $140.
The NWZ-A816 player has a total capacity of 4GB; comes in white, pink, black and silver; and will cost about $180.
The NWZ-A818 player has a total capacity of 8GB, comes in black and silver, and will cost about $230.

Casio's Updated G-Shock Mudman and G-Shock Gulfman Watches Unvailed

Casio follow up the release of their 25th Anniversary G-Shock – DW5025B-7 watch with two new updates in the G-Shock Series; the G-Shock Mudman GW9000A-1 and the G-Shock Gulfman GW9100-1.

The G-Shock Mudman feature both shock resistance and a sealed case to prevent foreign particles entering or ruining the watch

The G-Shock Gulfman features water, shock and rust resistance and its titanium case and screw pins penetrate the band joints completely, making the timepiece rust and corrosion resistant. The Gulfman’s deep waved band releases stress from the tight fit that can occur when the wrist gets wet.

Both the the Mudman and the Gulfman GW9100-1 automatically calibrate to the correct time by receiving time signals from atomic clocks in the U.S., U.K., Germany and Japan. It is equipped with solar power, 200 meter water resistant, world time features (offering 29 time zones and 48 city codes with daylight savings settings), five daily alarms, 1/10-second countdown timer, 1/100-second stopwatch and an auto calendar.

Casio 25th Anniversary G-Shock Looks Like The Original

Casio have just announced the release of their 25th Anniversary G-Shock – DW5025B-7 (left image). The design is based on the original G-Shock design and updated with a stylish white band and bezel with gold accents and a 25th anniversary logo engraved backcase.

Back in 1983 the G-Shock offered a radical new type of watch that was virtually shock proof and very popular. This new model features 200-meter water resistant, multi-function alarm, 1/100-second stopwatch and countdown timer.

The Very Cool Creative Zen MP3 Player


No sooner had we told you about the Sexy Samsung YP-P2 player, we find out that Creative are releasing their own sexy looking player; the Creative Zen. Spotted by various people on Amazon today (an error on their part and is no longer on line), the Creative Zen is a new flash based player that packs a lot into a small form.

Rumor has it that the Creative Zen will replace the Zen Vision M and will come with 4GB, 8GB and 16GB of memory. It measures 55 x 83 x 11.3mm and includes a large 2.5 inch TFT screen that supports 16.7 million colors. The Creative Zen will also come with an FM radio (32 presets), PIM functionality for syncing contacts and calendar info and an SD slot to increase the on board memory.

Sexy Samsung YP-P2 Out in September Maybe


It would appear that this very cool looking player; the Samsung YP-P2 will be coming in September (just in time for the rumored new iPod announcements). The YP-P2 is flashed based and should have up to 8GB of memory. It boasts a -inch, 428 x 240 pixel touch-screen display and should play MP3, WMV, WMA, and H.264 (MPEG4 AVC), MPEG-4. With integrated FM radio and microphone this is one smart looking player that should be on your list, if you are in the market for or are considering the new iPods (when they arrive).

No word on pricing, but it will not be cheap due to the features. More info when available.

Sansa Clip MP3 Player is Worth A Look


If you are looking for a small MP3 player or an alternative to the iPod shuffle, then take a look at the Sansa Clip.

As you can see from the photo it’s pretty small and will easily clip onto a belt or pocket. The Sansa Clip will play MP3 and WMA formats and comes with a bukit in FM radio, voice recorder, OLED screen and about 15 hours of battery use.

Should be available in September for around $40 for the 1GB and $60 for the 2GB model.

FotoFlexer for Online Photo Manipulation

For those of you that do not have access to image editing software like Photoshop; online photo editors are an option. With Adobe allegedly releasing an online version of Photoshop some time in the near future; here is one that might just keep you going until then. FotoFlexer have just re-launched their site with a new look and new tools.

With FotoFlexer you can access your webcam directly and it will also integrate with sites like Flickr, Picasa and MySpace. The software appears to be easy to use; just upload (or grab) a photo and start editing. The software allows you to change the size of body parts, will create cartoons and various other manipulations.

Olympus Raise the FE Series Bar with the FE 300 FE290 and FE 280 Digital Cameras


August is certainly the month for new cameras. Olympus this week announced the addition of 3 more cameras to their Stylus FE-series; the 12 megapixel FE 300, 7 megapixel FE 290 and the 8 megapixel FE 280.

All three cameras get the new Stylus ultra-slim design with prices ranging from $199 - $299.

The FE-300 and FE 280 come with a 2.5 inch LCD screen, while the FE 290 gets a boost up to a 3 inch LCD screen. These screens include a backlight boost that increases the brightness of the screen in challenging environments (direct sunlight / low light situations).

Like most new digital cameras that are being released this year, all three get Face Detection Technology. They are also get Olympus’s Digital Image Stabilization (DIS), that freezes the action with high ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speeds that prevent blurry images often caused by a moving subject. In addition the FE-280 and FE-300 also feature Digital Image Stabilization Edit, which uses a built-in gyro sensor to track camera movement and enables users to fix blurry images right in the camera.


The FE-280 and FE-300 feature Perfect Fix, which allows you to modify pictures on the camera rather than waiting until you transfer the photos to your PC.

The FE 280 and FE 300 also come with the new TruePic III image processor, which was developed for the demanding performance of professional Digital SLR

All three cameras offer VGA-quality video and sound; the FE 290 offers 17 shooting modes, while the FE 300 offers 18, and the FE 280 offers 21, including three underwater scene modes.

Pentax this week announced two new compact digital cameras; the 8 megapixel Optio Z10 and the 10 megapixel Optio S10.

Olympus has just announced a new Stylus digital camera; that should ensure you capture great photos no matter the weather of the terrain.

The Stylus 790SW offers waterproofing up to 3-meters and is said to be shockproof from a height of 5 feet (I don’t suggest that you try this out). It also comes with 7.1 megapixels, 3x non-protruding zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD, a 30fps VGA video mode, and ISO sensitivity up to 1600.

Sony's New Slim DSC-T200 and DSC-T70 Cameras


Sony today introduced two new cameras to their T-series; the ultra-slim 8-megapixel DSC-T200 and the 8-megapixel DSC-T70.

The DSC-T200 model comes with a 3.5-inch wide LCD touch-panel that controls all of the camera’s settings, a 5x Carl Zeiss® optical zoom lens and is available in silver, black and red

The DSC-T70 camera comes with a 3-inch wide LCD touch panel, a 3x Carl Zeiss optical zoom lens and is available in silver, black, white and pink

Both cameras can be connected to an HDTV via HD cable or HD cradle (which of course are sold separately). They can also be connected to a Sony BRAVIA® HD television, and photos are optimized for television viewing with Sony’s new “Photo TV HD” mode

The cameras also feature a new smile shutter function; which automatically detects and captures a person smiling.

Sharp To Release Slimmer D64U AQUOS LCD's


Sharp have just announced they new line of slimmed down (in size, not features) HD 1080p line of AQUOS® LCD TVs. The D64U series features a thin, lightweight “slim-line” design that provides a significantly smaller footprint than previous models.
How did Sharp achieve this? They re-engineered the circuitry layout and reduced the number of parts to produce a body that is about 25% thinner and 20% lighter than the previous AQUOS models.
