Dell Release Inspiron 1525 into the Wild

Dell has finally updated their Inspiron 15.4” laptop with the Inspiron 1525. Available at the very low starting price of $499 and customizable as usual, this new laptop refreshes their Inspiron line-up.

The Inspiron 1525 can be configured to have any of the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7250 (2.00GHz,2M L2 Cache,800MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5450 (1.66GHz,2M L2 Cache,667MHz FSB)
Intel Core Duo Processor T2330 (1.6GHz,1M L2 Cache,500MHz FSB)
Intel Celeron 540 (1.86GHz,1M L2 Cache,533MHz FSB)

Up to 4GB shared Dual Channel 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

Up to 250GB 5400 RPM SATA hard drive.

USB 2.0
Integrated 10/100 LAN (RJ45) and 56K Modem (RJ11)
IEEE1394a
8-in-1 Memory Card Reader
VGA video output & S-Video
HDMI high definition video output
1 ExpressCard 54mm Slot
Integrated dual digital mics
Dual headphone jacks
Microphone jack

As you can see from the above specs the 1525 is currently only available with the Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100; which is a bit disappointing. Hopefully, Dell will offer more options in the near future.

Personally, I would prefer the XPS 1530 laptop
