Sierra Wireless AirCard 595U USB modem Revision A for Verizon Wireless


The Sierra Wireless AirCard 595U USB modem should now be available from Verizon Wireless giving access to the high-speed Evolution-Data Optimized Revision A (EV-DO Rev. A) network.

The AirCard 595U modem can be connected via USB with the included docking cable for those that do not have PCMCIA card slots.

With the Sierra Wireless AirCard 595U you should expect download speeds between 600 kbps to 1.4 Mbps and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps. A 1 MB download should take around 8 seconds and an upload 13 seconds.

The AirCard 595U modem should be in stores at the end of August for around for $179.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year customer agreement. Broadband Access service for unlimited Internet browsing, email and intranet access is around $59.99 monthly with a new one- or two-year customer agreement.
